Concussion care support for student athletes and families

A concussion can be stressful for both students and parents. You may not be sure what symptoms to watch for, how long recovery will take, or where to go for the right care.
TouchPoint works with the Headstrong Concussion and Sports Injury Insurance Program, which helps eligible student athletes from participating schools access specialized concussion care.
For qualifying injuries, the program may provide up to $25,000 in coverage per incident, with no out-of-pocket costs or deductibles for the family, subject to eligibility and program terms.

What this program is

The High School Concussion Program helps families understand and access concussion care following a sports-related injury.
Many schools participate in the Headstrong program, which provides concussion-related insurance coverage connected to athletic participation. This is not something parents have to purchase separately — it is often a benefit already in place through the school’s program.
If a student is eligible, coverage may be available for concussion care up to $25,000 per incident, typically with no deductibles or co-pays required from the family.

When parents should consider an evaluation

A student should be evaluated after a blow to the head or body followed by symptoms such as:

  • Symptoms that continue days or weeks after the injury

If eligible, we help coordinate next steps for concussion assessment and care.
Step 4 — Support recovery
Students receive guidance and care focused on safe recovery and return to normal activities.
